2025 Fall Term | Structural Analysis

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducting analyses of structures and components while prioritizing safety and efficiency, referencing the specified engineering requirements for space platforms such as satellites and orbit transfer vehicles.
  • Performing comparative analyses on shape optimization and geometry optimization of components using finite element software.
  • Supporting advancements in modeling techniques to enhance simulation accuracy, providing recommendations based on experimental data, and implementing improvements.
  • Conducting static, dynamic, and modal analyses at the system and component levels.
  • Regularly reporting on the requirements and revisions related to the analyses to be performed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering from a university.
  • Familiarity with at least one preprocessing, postprocessing, and solver program (preferably Simcenter 3D or Nastran).
  • Ability to use computational engineering support applications at a basic level (preferably Matlab, Ansys, C++, Python, COMSOL, CATIA V5/V6, ABAQUS, MSC Patran/Nastran, Hypermesh, LabVIEW, PTC Creo).

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to perform modal and dynamic analysis and prepare 3D design models for analysis.
  • Knowledge of the dynamic environments faced by space vehicles.
  • Capability to guide optimization processes applied for testing and design.
