This department is responsible for designing, implementing, and validating prediction and control algorithms for real-time use in orbit. The teams that make up the YYBKS department are:
• Space Environment Modeling and Orbit Simulation Development,
• Control Algorithm Development,
• Prediction Algorithm Development,
• Test System Development (SIL/HIL).
Requirements:
• Currently in the final year or graduate of Aerospace, Control and Automation, Electrical-Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering, or related fields,
• Passion for space technology and a desire to acquire knowledge about spacecraft orientation/orbit determination and control system design and development,
• Knowledge or experience in engineering mechanics (dynamics), mathematical modeling, control theory, and orbital mechanics,
• Familiarity with MATLAB/SIMULINK.
Benefits of interning at the this department:
• Developing various models in the MATLAB/SIMULINK environment,
• Modeling internal and external forces affecting the space environment and satellites,
• Modeling satellite actuators and sensors,
• Understanding and developing different control algorithms for satellites,
• Understanding and developing orbit/orientation determination algorithms for satellites,
• Understanding test setups developed for satellites,
• Collaborating with different engineering disciplines,
• Participating in studies that will provide an engineering perspective.
