RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Designing mechanical components of space platforms such as satellites and orbit transfer vehicles, ensuring their safety and efficiency by referencing specified engineering requirements.
• Adapting to Fergani Space's dynamic engineering structure and keeping up with relevant engineering and design change processes.
• Interpreting inputs from collaborating engineering teams technically, transferring these inputs' outputs to responsible work and ensuring the sustainability of the design life cycle.
• Maintaining total weight and balance limits during design, conducting component and construction-based lightening studies.
• Designing mechanical systems such as moving separation mechanisms, orientation control mechanisms, deployable-closable power systems, hydraulic and pneumatic thrust system equipment, and fuel distribution and storage equipment.
• Designing enclosure boxes for electronic equipment, including sensitive sensors, creating production preparation and quality control documents for designed parts.
• Performing necessary vibration calculations for electronic equipment containing sensitive sensors and conducting isolation (damping) studies of this equipment from vibration.
• Designing the cable installation between integrated electronic equipment in the space platform in a three-dimensional manner based on relevant architectural studies.
• Conducting engineering studies necessary for equipment subject to environmental tests such as thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, radiation, and EMI/EMC tests to complete these tests successfully.
• Conducting optimization studies for design processes throughout the design phase, such as fatigue, life calculations, material selections, assembly, and integration ergonomics.
• Having a good understanding of aluminum, composites, and engineering plastics and being able to design by prioritizing manufacturing processes.
• Managing design processes by thinking in detail about critical design points related to geometric sizing and tolerance accumulations.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering.
• Preferably, having 1+ years of experience in the design and/or production of mechanical/electronic equipment (including academic, internship, competition, and project experiences).
• Experience with any 3D CAD software (preferably CATIA V5/V6, etc.).
• Being able to use computational engineering support applications at a basic level (preferably MATLAB, Python COMSOL, ABAQUS, LabVIEW, PTC Creo).
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Knowledge of manufacturing methods, machining and processing techniques, coating, heat treatment, thermal control paints, laser and plasma cutting-bending, cutting tools, and their properties.
• Knowledge of material selection, detailed design of complex mechanical systems, and quality control stages.
• Knowledge of optimization methods applied for testing, analysis, and design.
• Ability to manage technical documentation processes such as work orders and operation instructions.
• Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Proficiency in English, (TOEFL 80 and above, IELTS 6.5 and above, YDS and YÖKDİL 65 and above preferred).
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
• Preferably, having a master's or doctoral degree.
• Preferably, having conducted academic publications or articles in relevant fields.
• No travel restrictions for assignment to subcontractor firms and integration centers in different cities and countries.
