Environmental Test Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conducting comprehensive tests of relevant projects by referencing defined engineering requirements for space platforms such as satellites and orbit transfer vehicles, prioritizing their safety and efficiency,
Adapting to Fergani Space's dynamic engineering structure and keeping up with the relevant engineering processes,
Interpreting the inputs of collaborating engineering teams from a technical standpoint, transferring these inputs to the work at hand, and being responsible for the entire final testing process,
Conducting, executing, analyzing, simulating, interpreting, and reporting tests based on reference documents that group the main requirements for tests such as thermal vacuum, EMI/EMC, radiation, vibration, shock, etc., designed for space projects for platforms and equipment levels,
Analyzing data (fluid, structural, thermal, electrical) to verify test processes and performances, providing feedback to design/production and development processes,
Creating test environments and selecting, setting up, and operating test equipment,
Making suggestions and implementing them to continuously improve test processes and standards.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical-Electronics Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Metallurgy and Materials Engineering,
At least 1 year of experience in the field of applied testing (including academic, internship, competition, project),
Experience using any 3D CAD software (preferably CATIA V5/V6, etc.),
Advanced proficiency in MATLAB, C++,
Basic proficiency in using computational engineering support applications (preferably able to use software/programs such as Python).

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge of high-risk systems (high pressure, cryogenic, flammable, hypergolic, pyrophoric) and prevention of potential hazards,
Familiarity with ECSS, ESCC, and NASA test standards,
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining and processing methods, coatings, heat treatment, thermal control paints, laser and plasma cutting-bending, cutting tools and their properties,
Knowledge of radiation sources, tests, and protection from radiation,
Knowledge of space radiation and space atmosphere,
Knowledge of space radiation tests,
Knowledge of FMEA, FMECA, and reliability calculations,
Knowledge of material selection and detailed design and assembly of complex structural and mechanical systems, quality control stages,
Ability to conduct technical documentation processes such as work orders, operation instructions,
Proficiency in Bill of Materials (BOM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) concepts.
Knowledge of optimization applied to testing, analysis, and design,

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Proficiency in English (Preferably TOEFL 80 and above, IELTS 6.5 and above, YDS and YÖKDİL 65 and above scores),
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment,
Preferably a graduate or postgraduate degree holder,
Preferably have conducted academic publications or articles in relevant fields,
No travel restrictions for assignment to subcontractor companies and test centers in different cities and countries.
