The Systems Engineer position is responsible for managing all process planning and implementation of a space mission from concept to end-of-life. This role assesses and evaluates the technical aspects during the transition from concept to product. Working within the general system architecture, the engineer details specific functionalities through requirements, definitions, operational concepts, and system modeling. Responsibilities include leading the development of mission operations definitions (ConOps) and system architecture, defining requirements and constraints, balancing technical risks across subsystems, and overseeing the verification steps.

Responsibilities and Job Description of the Systems Engineer Position:

  • Establish the lifecycle of a spacecraft program, including design, manufacturing, testing, and space operations.
  • Define system development and implementation steps to be applied throughout the spacecraft program lifecycle, ensuring compliance with international standards.
  • Identify and track the technical aspects of a space project.
  • Contribute to the design and development processes of spacecraft subsystems, including hardware, structural, thermal control, power, communication, and orbit-attitude control.
  • Determine equipment requirements and manage procurement processes.
  • Plan spacecraft ground and orbit operations and conduct system integration.
  • Plan mission failure scenarios, and conduct risk and reliability analysis.
  • Plan the concept definition stages of a space mission and manage critical mission decision-making processes.
  • Balance trade-offs between systems gains and losses.

Key Qualifications for the Systems Engineer Position:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Space Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical-Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Control and Automation Engineering.
  • Proficiency in space mission modeling, simulation, and system analysis tools (STK, GMAT, FreeFlyer, etc.).
  • Ability to conduct mission budget analysis and optimization (Power, Delta-V, Link, etc.).
  • Preferably possess detailed knowledge in satellite communications, orbital mechanics and propulsion calculations, attitude control methods, and spacecraft equipment.
  • Fluent in English with strong technical literacy and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • No restrictions on domestic and international travel.
